Scaffolding Competent Person
This 8-Hour Scaffolding Competent Person course is an OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety awareness course that will review the state and federal standards for scaffold. The course will cover the two most common types of scaffolds (Systems and tubular frame), along with the basics of installing a scaffold system and inspection of how to prevent hazardous situations.
This course focuses on the responsibilities of a Competent Person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the work area and has the authorization to take corrective measures to eliminate them.
In this hands-on course, students can expect to work as a team to plan, figure load calculation for material and personnel, erection and dismantling procedures and inspect the scaffolding system. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate.
*Note: We will be going to a local scaffolding fabrication yard for hands on erection and dismantling of scaffolding.
