Overview: This course presents a uniform approach for Earned Value Project Management, a process that successfully monitors project and program performance. This process gives the customer and supplier the ability to track technical, cost, and schedule progress thereby depicting budget efficiencies for both time and dollars. This course of study is provided for guidance to understand the intent of Earned Value Project Management and the tools used to conduct analysis of contractor supplied documentation. At course completion, students will be able to:

• Define Earned Value and why it is important to your project
• Explain the relationship between the cumulative cost curve and the project budget
• Develop a control account plan and establish a performance measurement baseline
• Calculate cost and schedule variances and use them to monitor project performance
• Forecast final cost and schedule results using the cost performance index and the schedule performance index
• Identify what must be done to implement Earned Value effectively
• Understand how the ANSI EVM Industry Standard is used to certify EVM-integrated management systems.
